Lucy Varna is a former professional genealogist and a one-time astrophysicist-wannabe turned anthropology major. She's been a reader for as long as she can remember. As a child, after devouring every suitable book in her house, she moved on to newspapers, encyclopedias, and telephone directories, and finally to her grandmothers' home libraries.

In addition to reading, writing, and studying dead people, Lucy enjoys knitting, music, and long drives through the countryside during autumn. The next story out will likely be Thief of Hearts, a novella length prequel to The Choosing. I'm aiming for an August or September release, depending on when the cover is finished.

I'm also working on Book 2, Alien Mine, in which Dyuvad ab Mhij (from one of the first scenes in The Choosing) is sent to Earth by a Net 'path.

Lots of people have asked me about Tyelu af Alna, Ryn's sister, and yes, I'm planning a story for her.

It seems like…moreI have three stories I'm writing right now (one under another pseudonym) and two I'm editing, so this question made me chuckle a little. It seems like I'm always working on something new, and hardly a day goes by when I'm not writing something, anything. I love writing, absolutely love it, and can't imagine *not* writing.

So, currently I'm editing the next two books I'll release this year. The first is a short novel set to release in August 2014, called A Wicked Love. It's the second in the Witches of Cullowhee series. For those of you who hated the subtle paranormal elements in the first book, this one has more. :)

The second is a full-length novel called The Enemy Within. It's the third book in the Daughters of the People series, features one of my all-time favorite characters (Bobby Upton, who is just yummy), and will be released in October 2014. I loved writing this story, loved having Bobby and Indigo in my head, loved helping Indigo resolve part of the problems she has with her darker twin, India. (If you're wondering, I identified more with India, which may not say anything good about me!)

As for writing, I'm skipping back and forth between the first drafts of two separate stories, both set in the world of the People. In the first, Hawthorne, a centuries old Daughter, must learn to trust again, and must also ferret out a traitor to the People. This one's set to release in December 2014 under the title Tempered.

The second story features Levi, Hawthorne's great-grandson, and was totally not part of my regular writing schedule, so I'm kind of having to squeeze in time for writing this one. As a Son (and that's a long story!), Levi has certain duties and obligations, including finding someone who is, according to his family, an appropriate mate. Levi's heart has other ideas, and so does Sera, the woman he eventually comes to love.

I really have enjoyed exploring the world of the People, and hope readers enjoy it, too.(less)
