Ron Mayes is a career educator with many years of experience as a public school teacher, principal, and superintendent. He earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Indiana University, and has invested much of his life in the interest of enlightening the minds of young students.

Dr. Mayes is also a son and a grandson, a father and a grandfather, a brother, and a husband. His search for knowledge about the grandfather he admired, led to discoveries beyond his imagination. His own life experiences took on a whole new meaning as he took a long and deep look at the events that shaped him.

Introducing Sherrod's Legacy

I am a first time author, and I hope that my new book will be of interest to others. It started as a way to honor the memory of my grandfather. By the time I had finished the project, I learned much more about myself than I had expected. I hope that others will enjoy my story, and will find inspiration in it.
