I am a teacher by profession, with a BA in French and Italian and an MA in Jewish Studies, gained ten years ago. I am a Mancunian (from Manchester, England) and my native city has nurtured my feminist tendencies – also influencing some of my poetry and my first novel, The Purple Rose, published by Tollington Press in 2012, which features the suffragette movement.

My short play, ‘Moving On’ was produced for local radio, after winning a competition and over thirty of my poems have been published in various magazines. Life’s good and busy!

I’ve had hospitality from Hazel Grove’s Inner Wheel, at a celebration lunch where I was the guest speaker. We shared notes on the stories of strong women both in teh Inner Wheel and in my novels. Then I spoke to the ’58 club in Knutsford where my talk also resonated with the women who founded their group.
