There's not much of character development that I have to do with these characters. We already have an image of these real life persons. I only have to exaggerate some characteristics and caricaturise some others. The alien character is completely new, but if you notice, the book doesn't spend much time on his story, thoughts and feelings. It's treated pretty superficially as the focus is on the politicians, the humorous situations and the fast paced narrative. So didn't have to work that hard to get either of them to cooperate! :)(less)
