Hollywood calling!!
There has been some interest from America in developing THE HUM as a screenplay!!
There is a lot of excitement about the 'Science-fiction, but not really' aspects of the story.
I can't wait to see how it develops.
In the meantime, I am busy working on another novel that I am considering titling 'The Haunting'about an exorcism that has some unexpected and dire consequences

THE HUM, in the news
The humming noise, subject of my new novel THE HUM, is featuring a lot in the media at the moment.
There was a mention from Chris Packham on the BBC series 'Nature's strangest events'where they concluded that the noise phenomenon might be a certain type of fish. Apparently, the fish pops up to the surface as part of its mating ritual and makes the strange sound. It seemed a pretty unlikely explanation to me.
Chris Packham spoke again this week about the strange noise and how it was heard around the world, mainly when it is cold. He tried to demonstrate how sound can travel for miles when it hits the warm air that has risen and bounces down to earth again (rather than escaping vertically). No single explanation of what the noise actually was, other than "some low frequency sound", was given. One explanation offered was the rumbling of sand dunes in the desert. They did seem to make a similar sound, but it wasn't when it was cold so disputes the first explanation.They are probably all perfectly plausible solutions individually, but lack the answer that explains more of the testimonies.
More attention was given when national newspaper 'The Daily Mail' ran a story last week entitled'Have you heard The Hum?'
There is also an incredible amount of information online from blogs such as The hum.info, Shure blog and Huffington Post
There seems to be many people who think there is a conspiracy (isn't there always?) and this spat of media interest could well be a cover up. It's all brilliant advertising for my book of course. Long may it continue!
