J. L. Langland has been obsessed with science fiction and fantasy since Junior High. Upon hearing the job description "High Energy Astrophysicist" in 8th Grade Physical Science, he set out to become one. His express goal to develop trans-warp capability, patent it, license patent rights, make money, build spaceship, go to the stars.

OK, well, he got a B.S. in Astrophysics, then his M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy Physics. But by that point, he'd realized that there were probably easier ways to make a living than developing warp drives. Turns out, it was rather more difficult than he'd thought in 8th Grade.

So, clearly, the better alternative was to use his knowledge of Multiversal Quantum Topology to create a gateway to other plane

I had been thinking that with 3 books, if I got stuck on one, I'd just switch to another for a while. Not exactly. It turns out it is possible to have Triple Writer's Block!

Actually, it's not exactly writer's block, because I know where everything needs to go, but I do get stuck on how to get from A to C at points, and while switching stories for a while helps, I also lose some focus/momentum and so when I switch back I have to get caught up again--regain my momentum.

In the end, nothing speeds up, it's still writing 3 books (albeit the spinoffs are about half the length of book 4 so 2 books) but I hope to have at least 2 books, if not all 3 out this year.(less)

I am hoping for sooner, but that sort of depends on my day job schedule. Right now things are slow at that so am making progress on Book 3. Going to cross my fingers for a 9 month window, but no promises.(less)

OOA:Into the Night Audio Book Release Date

Hi,

After some schedule wrangling and delays, we finally have a release date for Oak Orks of the Antilles: Into The Night on Audible.

May 17, 2022.

A bit later than we'd hoped but given these crazy times and all the other sorts of delays, it is understandable.

“Wait! Wait!” The beggar called out from behind her. “I can see! I’m healthy!” Hilda smiled to herself, pleased. “You just took away my livelihood! Do you have any idea how hard it is out here for a healthy beggar?” The man sounded almost angry.”
J.L. Langland, The Heavenly Host

“Evacuation? Why?” Sier shouted over the klaxon “Gandros ordered it after Ruiden cleaved Exador in twain!” Zilquar shouted back. “Well, that seems a bit rude,” Sier said with a shocked expression on his face. “Exador thought so too, and now the two are dueling it out in the Grand Foyer,” Hortwell yelled.”
J.L. Langland, The Heavenly Host

“Did these fools even listen to themselves talk, or did they, like the majority of their audience, simply tune the sound of their own voices out?”
