As much as writing is imagined as something that just happens, the reality is you'll write better with some education. Creative writing workshops are great places for this. I went through the Southern Methodist University Writer's Path program, which really clarified the nuts and bolts of writing a compelling, suspenseful novel. It also educated me about the publishing business. These programs are worth every penny for what they save you in time and frustration. (less)

An AFTER-death experience

A Facebook friend of mine went through what he called an After Death Experience - because (1) he had a heart attack with full-on cardiac arrest 60 feet under water while scuba diving and (2) he's a doctor so he should know. He said "I was definitely dead." Where he "went" and what he saw was amazing. Want to know more about him?
