An AFTER-death experience

A Facebook friend of mine went through what he called an After Death Experience - because (1) he had a heart attack with full-on cardiac arrest 60 feet under water while scuba diving and (2) he's a doctor so he should know. He said "I was definitely dead." Where he "went" and what he saw was amazing. Want to know more about him?

Of course you do. But here's the rub. He died for real in 2021 before he was able to complete his book about this experience. I knew I wasn't the right editor for his book, but still, I looked at two versions of his manuscript, thinking I might be able to help him find a good fit.

I've tried to contact his family and last significant other. Crickets. So now I'm thinking I need to get this story out there for the world to see.

Suzanne Giesemann's "Still Right Here'

Still Right Here: A True Story of Healing and Hope Still Right Here: A True Story of Healing and Hope by Suzanne Giesemann

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a wonderful and uplifting spiritual story in the aftermath of tragedy - the loss of Suzanne's only stepchild, who was pregnant with her only grandchild. Suzanne's writing about her experience as a medium and becoming a medium give so much hope for what may be on the other side of death.

Why fiction instead of memoir?

Does my novel, "My Dead True Love," cherry-pick grief-journey moments? That might be one way to look at it.

The beauty of fiction is it allows you to shape facts to create a compelling read but without losing the integrity of the experience. One character - Connie the reluctant psychic, for example - may be a composite of several real people.

Fiction also allows me to bring YOU along on the journey, with all its highs and lows and nuances. I love it when people tell me, with a twinkle in their eye, "I wasn't expecting that ending."

Essay on Open to Hope

Often when people lose a loved one, they wonder whether it might be possible to contact the person through a medium. But they have no idea where to start or how to find a legitimate medium.

I've written an essay for Open to Hope on just this topic. It will get anyone started on the right track.

Open to Hope is an excellent resource website for those experiencing grief. I'll be writing again for them.

A review I love

I just want to share an anonymous review from Amazon. I'm so grateful for it. The reader really gets the story in "My Dead True Love."

"The book starts at a moment of tragedy. A journalist, Ann Stewart, loses her fiancé much too young. As she grieves, weird things begin to happen, and this brings up some potent questions. Luckily, Ann has just the right friends to turn to. Ann goes on an exploration to get answers. Is her love still around, somewhere out there? Strong evidence suggests this.

As Ann searches for solutions to her heart-rending curiosities, readers will be just as anxious that she finds what she is looking for. The book builds up in tension as Ann gets closer to discovering the truth. Everyone will be able to relate and will be driven to turn pages, hoping to see if Ann finds evidence of the soul carrying on after physical death.

The book is filled with human relationships, friends and family alike, on this plane of existence and the next. Where Ann’s travels take her is a riveting experience. These discoveries change her outlook on life.
The best part of this story is the pay-off. It delivers on the promises it makes. Highly recommended."
