Born in New Zealand, Alan grew up during a time of cultural change within New Zealand. Drawn to music and the arts from an early age, Alan's imagination often bordered on the fantastical and he developed a fascination for role-playing games as a way to expand his mind.

He studied music at the University of Auckland, then took some time off, moving to live in the UK for a year an a half, then moving to the United States. He completed his degree in 2012.

Married with 2 children, Alan now lives in New Mexico where he continues to find inspiration in the world around him as well as the richness and diversity of the cultures of humanity.
