Professional Reader

Ian Segal is an American author of dark fantasy, speculative fiction, literary fiction, mythic fiction, and philosophical tales.

His work wanders through ruined histories, forbidden books, ancestral debts, and the treacherous places where memory refuses to stay buried. In his stories, ink indicts, betrayal breeds, and fate bares its fangs—usually after politely pretending it had no teeth at all.

Drawn to haunting prose, moral consequence, and worlds where beauty survives by candlelight, Ian writes of shadowed thresholds, broken oaths, old griefs, and the dangerous business of rewriting what should have remained forgotten.

The greatest disappointment is Kinch himself. A first-pers

"This bums me out like no other, but I am finally allowing myself to DNF this book. I haven't read much Joe Abercrombie (One book, in fact - The Blade Itself. Very much enjoyed), but I know his reputation as the "master of grimdark fantasy". So when i" Read more of this review »

"I am so sorry to all when I say I did not enjoy this :(

This was my first Abercrombie, and I have to say I expected a lot more the way some of y’all talk about him. The writing was insanely repetitive, the comedy felt like it was written by a 12 year " Read more of this review »

"Feels co-produced by Marvel Studios or something. Endless quips, endless action blew up the page count, uninteresting worldbuilding."
