What am I currently working on?
I am currently working on multiple projects. First, I’m searching for representation for “The World Beneath”. This has been a challenging process (translation: This process sucks), but I’m building an amazing mind control device to assist me in my efforts. If that doesn’t work, I may try Girl Scout cookies. “The World Beneath” is a young adult, post-apocalyptic fantasy novel in which Alex, my protagonist, faces the end of the world. However, she soon realizes that it’s also the beginning of something new. A world that has been waiting and hiding. Witches, vampires, shapeshifters, along with magic and magical creatures fill the pages of this, the first in the trilogy. I am beyond thrilled by how the book turned out, now I just need to find an agent to help me thrust it out into the world.
My other project is top secret. Okay, okay, I will share a tiny bit of information. It’s a book. What? That’s not enough? Well, alright, but you have to promise to keep it between the two of us. I am currently writing a young adult urban fantasy novel. Cassie, my protagonist, awakens on her 16th birthday to discover a newfound power. An outcast, she hopes her new found ability will help her be seen and heard. Can she wield it responsibly or will it tear her life apart? What is the power? I’m not telling yet, but it’s pretty freaking cool! For those who followed my satiric writing, this book will have strong social and political themes that I hope and believe will transcend the story to something truly special and important.
