V. S. Watson hails from the land of lobsters and bluenoses, otherwise charmingly known as Nova Scotia in Canada. Her life aspiration has always been to become an author, and after a whirlwind of adventure involving video games, books, and travelling across the North American continent for school, Watson has fully realized that dream. She attended the University of Victoria for Writing.

That usually has been enough of a jump-starter for me if I ever struggled with 'writer's block' - you can usually glean something new from revisiting what you've written before.

The most important lesson to learn is to ALWAYS keep writing regardless of whether you hit a metaphorical wall or not. Maybe take a day or two away from your writing so you can have a fresh perspective on it, but get right back on it and push through. Still having trouble with the same scene? Skip it and move on to the next one; don't let one part derail your efforts. Usually after some time away and working on another scene will give you that "Aha!" moment that you need to progress.

Best of luck to everyone writing out there; you can do it!(less)

I am most productive during the hours of 7AM to 3PM so I've customized my weekly schedule to work around that. I find that once I've settled into a routine, I'm always raring to get started on the next segment or chapter of the story. Write what interests you! Write what you'd like to read. When you work on something that you love, you'll always find yourself motivated to keep working on it. :)(less)

“Sometimes a fresh perspective is all you need to get a second wind on the revision process. Try viewing your material on a different medium; it will shed a new light on the inconsistencies in the dark.”
