Sarah King lives in Lincolnshire with her husband and two sons. She has a degree in psychology and has worked at a senior level in two retail companies. Sarah wrote her first book, 'Gods Inc', in 2010 (though it wasn't released until 2014),and her second novel, 'What Laura Saw', was published in July 2014.

Sarah's writing is characterised by its fast pace and unexpected twists. Writing mainly psychological thrillers, she likes her books to be engaging and to challenge the reader to second guess the plot twists. Her aim is to create a story that will leave the reader thinking about what they have read for a long time afterwards.

If I have a really good idea then I rarely get 'writer's block'. That is unless I have a technical problem with the plot. For example with my latest book that is being edited at the moment (What Laura Saw), I had a long period of writer's block. In fact a whole two years! The reason? It was essential that the whole book was told from Laura's point of view. It could not work otherwise. But the plot was quite a big 'ask' when there would be absolutely no other points of view allowed. I was stuck halfway through the book. I knew how I wanted it to end and everything that was going to happen, but it was so technically difficult to write from just one point of view. I needed a big break from the book and to view it with fresh eyes. I am so pleased that I did that as I am thoroughly delighted with the result.(less)

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Sarah King Letting my imagination run wild and then crafting my ideas into a tightly plotted book. And nothing beats getting good feedback from readers.
