Library reading
In a couple of days I'll be reading an excerpt from my book to a group of kid, as well as a book signing. Ages range from 8-13. Hoping that it translates well to different age groups. We shall see. Wish me luck!

Enders Shadow Review
Ender's Shadow by Orson Scott CardMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
For those of you who aren't into the sci-fi scene, Orson Scott Card is a giant amongst men. His body of work is expansive and his books have crossed into movies and comics. Some of you are probably familiar with the sci-fi movie that came out a little while ago called Enders Game, based on Cards book. As far as adaptations go, not too bad, check it out if you get a chance. If you've read, or watched Enders Game then you probably recall a character named Bean in the story. By all accounts, Bean is a minimal character in Enders Game. In Enders Shadow, a parallel novel, we get to see how important Bean really is. The book starts off with a look at the recruiting program for gifted children that are selected for battle school. Here, we meet Bean as a toddler, living in the streets. He is insanely brilliant for a two year old to be able to survive the mean streets and without getting too spoilery we follow his rise from being a vagabond to a student in the battle school space station. Here is where the novel really picks up. While at the space station we see everything that was happening outside of Enders narrow view. We find out how much Bean helps Ender, and we also see the extent of Beans genius. For a fan of Card, this book is a fantastic in-depth look at life in the battle school, and for fans of sci-fi its just a great read all around. I don't really have much negative to say about the book except I wish in the beginning we could get to the battle school a little faster. I understand the need to develop the character but it just seemed a little drawn out. Besides that, it was good fun. Bean is a twisted genius and I would go to war to kill Buggers with him any day.

Lamb Review
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher MooreMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Let me start this review by saying that I am by no means a Christianity or bible buff. I'm reviewing this book simply by its entertainment value alone, and not its historical accuracy. That being said, this book was HILARIOUS. The narrative of the story focuses on the 'lost years' of Jesus's life. From childhood to about his early thirties. Apparently, there isn't any record of what Jesus did during those years so Moore attempts to envision what might have happened. To add to the hi-jinx, the story is told from the point of view of Biff, Jesus's childhood best friend. We follow Biff and Jesus (or Josh, as Biff calls him) on their travels across the world, as Josh attempts to find out what it means to be the Messiah. Josh seeks out the wise men, or Magi, that visited him in Bethlehem when he was born. It is from the Magi that Josh learns different philosophies about life and about being a good person. What’s entertaining is that through their travels, they embark on several adventures that include fighting demons, rescuing a little girl from a murderous cult, and communing with the abominable snowman. Yeah, you read right, Jesus hangs out with a yeti. Again, you really can’t fault Moore’s creative license here, it's entertaining as hell (see what I did there). The only issue I have with the book is that it kind of slows down towards the end. Most of us know how Jesus’s tale ends (or begins if you're believer) so it’s a little depressing seeing that play out in the last third of the book. After all the adventures you share with Biff and Josh, you almost wish there was an alternate ending. All in all, I loved the book. Great read. Just check your beliefs at the door, and I’m sure you’ll be entertained. Oh, did I mention Jesus and Biff learn Kung-Fu? BadassChristopher Moore

Rangers Apprentice Review
Ok, so I just reviewed Rangers Apprentice. Not sure if users have access to my reviews when visiting my author page. Like I said, new to all of this.
GoodReads offered to add the review to my blog so I said, "Sure, lets get crazy." Here it is my friends. Stay classy.
Rangers Apprentice by John Flanagan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Love Mr. Flanagan's series, Rangers Apprentice. I've read his entire sum of books and they do not disappoint. Some critics say the books are formulaic, but so were the Indian Jones movies. Last time I checked, both Rangers and Indian Jones are doing particularly well in the revenue department.
One of the great things about these books is the relationships between the main characters. Yeah, the training, action, and globe trotting adventures are a blast to read - where the books shine is the character development and their relationships with one another.
When I am reading these books, I can't help but wish I could just hang out with the characters over a good cup of coffee. I can't say enough good things about John Flanagan's books. I'm truly a fan.

Child of Atlantis: Ascension
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my blog! I'm happy to say that my first book has been published to Amazon. Child of Atlantis: Ascension is the first book in a 7 book series.
Yeah, I know, thats a lot of writing. It took me a couple of years to write book one. I attribute the extended time to the fact that I have to work a real job to pay the bills. It is a sad sad thing my friends, but I digress.
Since this is my first outing as a writer, I am going to view this whole experience as a testing ground for the viability of actually being a writer for a living. Ah, to live the dream of being a successful writer seems a bit out of reach, but you can't blame a guy for trying :).
Anyway, please check out the book. Leave a review. Let me know if you love it or hate it. This is a new adventure for me and I'm glad to be able to share it with you.
If you have question, suggestions, or just want to chat about the meaning of life or why people still say 'roll' down the window, drop me a line. Talk to you soon.
Peace be the journey my friends. Stay awesome.
