Rangers Apprentice by John Flanagan

Love Mr. Flanagan's series, Rangers Apprentice. I've read his entire sum of books and they do not disappoint. Some critics say the books are formulaic, but so were the Indian Jones movies. Last time I checked, both Rangers and Indian Jones are doing particularly well in the revenue department.

One of the great things about these books is the relationships between the main characters. Yeah, the training, action, and globe trotting adventures are a blast to read - where the books shine is the character development and their relationships with one another.

When I am reading these books, I can't help but wish I could just hang out with the characters over a good cup of coffee. I can't say enough good things about John Flanagan's books. I'm truly a fan.
