Hurdling the 'Big White Wall'.

I was sitting at my computer this morning staring at that ever present blinking cursor when my husband came in to the office. In the way that only long standing couples manage, our eyes met and silent communication ensued.

"What are you doing, honey?" Was the silent question.

"I'm battling the Big White Wall." I answered with a sigh.

"Huh?" He responded.

I pointed to my computer monitor where my curso Read more of this blog post »

“followed Caden to a little dive bar in a strip mall along TV highway where there were a bunch of Harleys in the lot surrounded by bikers.”
J.D. Garrett, Sinister Services

“There’s nothing better than a hard-ass in a sexy package with intelligence shining in his eyes.”
J.D. Garrett, Sinister Services

“Most people respect the biker crowd, if not fear them. They definitely live by their own set of rules. They work hard and play harder. To describe them as a rowdy bunch is really an understatement. Free spirited; yes, fearsome; some of them, conformist: never. The camaraderie among them was difficult to define and strongly apparent. Unspoken, yet also apparent, was the knowledge that they would be there for one another, unquestioningly, should the need arise. They were a family of brothers.”

“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”
Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

“Coffined thoughts around me, in mummycases, embalmed in spice of words. Thoth, god of libraries, a birdgod, moonycrowned. And I heard the voice of that Egyptian highpriest. In painted chambers loaded with tilebooks. They are still. Once quick in the brains of men. Still: but an itch of death is in them, to tell me in my ear a maudlin tale, urge me to wreak their will.”
James Joyce, Ulysses
