Violinist, composer, and author Sarah Wallin Huff has been playing the violin since 1990 and composing since 1993. Sarah’s music compositional style is what she calls "stream-of-consciousness" composition. She is currently a professor of music at Cal Poly Pomona and published her first textbook, "History of Technology in Music," in 2019 with Great River Learning.

Throughout the course of her exploits, Sarah's literary writing has been a regular part of her creative life, beginning seriously in 1992. How do you get inspired to write?

Sarah Wallin-Huff Honestly, The Kesher Chronicles is something I've been working on - while actively pursing my music and composition career - for the past 20 years. (T…moreHonestly, The Kesher Chronicles is something I've been working on - while actively pursing my music and composition career - for the past 20 years. (That's why Part 2 is already finished.) I first started writing seriously back in 1992 with short mystery novellas. Then in 1994, I first started writing Kesher Part 1. And growing up, I had no idea if I would end up pursuing writing or music in college. Turns out music won out, but I still kept up on the stories I had started. I had so much growing to do personally, emotionally and spiritually, and The Kesher Chronicles just kept growing and improving with me. So - in a very abstract and allegorical way - Kol-Kesher's story (and *minor spoiler* that of everyone involved with him-her) is my own.(less)
