Heather Boerner is a longtime journalist whose work has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Chronicle Sunday Magazine, Al Jazeera America, KPBS, Better Homes and Gardens and BETABlog, among other publications. She is the recipient of a Dennis A. Hunt Grant for Health Care Journalism, for a series on undocumented immigrants and healthcare, and is the winner of an Apex Award of Excellence and an Award of Excellence in Health Care Journalism from the Association of Health Care Journalists.
