Fiona's stories are captivating, bold, suspense reads featuring strong female leads, small, rural town settings and quirky Australian characters.

Her most recent Opal Fields Crime Fiction series has been described as “a fast paced action packed thrill ride through the outback”.

Writing runs in the family. Fiona’s Great Uncle was Australian Literary author George Johnston (My Brother Jack) and although her style is more contemporary, her Uncle’s social commentary tone is evident.

Recently compared to Jane Harper, Patricia Wolf and Melinda Leigh—Fiona’s crime and mystery suspense novels have been well received, reaching #1 Best Seller in the Amazon Australia store and beyond.

Fiona lives in Noosa Australia with her husband, and not far from her t

Hi Graham. Please excuse my delay in replying. GR didn't let me know you left a message.

My latest work is always going to be my best so I'd suggest you start with Her Buried Bones - book 1 in the Opal Fields series.

Some of my fans are jumping into the Foxy Mysteries series (or boxed set) because the lead character of the Opal Fields is also in this series, but it will jump you ahead to her future and is a little spicier than the Opal Fields series. (less)

George Johnston was an Australian journalist, war correspondent and literary novelist whose family all died young.
I've been meaning to track down the publishing company and find out more, but honestly didn't really know where to start. Now I write mystery novels, it might back a good sub-plot for a book, so I should look further into it.(less)

Winter Library Tour 2025

I had so much fun!

I'll be back in far north Queensland next winter, but I'll also be doing more library tours in 2026. It was fabulous to meet readers and I was very surprised to see a full house in Yeppoon at my last event.

The team at Livingstone (Yeppoon) Library are already talking about finding a larger event for next year and I'll be speaking with other regional libraries in the area to plan

“It’s not just violence against women Ryan. Violent behaviour in general needs to be addressed. Bullying, brawling, sexual assault—we see it in the workplace, schools, at all levels of government. It’s more than violence against women and children.”
