Born in the tropical islands of the Philippines, Ms. Rivera moved with her mother to the United States at the tender age of seven. Here her love of history was born and so was the dream of writing her first historical fiction novel. Funny, sentimental and eccentric, Ms. Rivera also has interests outside of history such as music, dance and art.

Ms. Rivera is currently a junior at Old Dominion University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History Education. She intends to be a history teacher as well as a historical fiction novelist.
