Shawnte Orion attended Paradise Valley Community College for one day, but he is the author Gravity & Spectacle (a collaboration with photographer Jia Oak Baker from Tolsun Books) and The Existentialist Cookbook (NYQBooks). His poems have appeared in Threepenny Review, Barrelhouse, Georgetown Review, New York Quarterly, and elsewhere. He is an editor for Rinky Dink Press and he has performed in bookstores, bars, universities, hair salons, museums, and laundromats.

split 7inch vinyl record

For my latest project, I got the opportunity to work with a handful of artists that I love. 

I recorded some poems for the flipside of a 7inch vinyl record. The San Francisco band Sweat Lodge has two songs on their side.

Cool. I'm glad you appreciate it. I realized that I would never post anything, if I waited until I had time to write "real reviews." But there's no reason I can't make a few brief comments, here and there.

Shawnte Orion Glad to hear that. I did already buy a copy and I'm trying to finish up some stuff that I'm currently reading, so I can give it my full attention. I am definitely looking forward to it, though.

Let me recommend Christopher Moore's SACRE BLEU. It's hilarious. Toulouse Lautrec is one of the main characters. Got it out of the Peoria, AZ library.
