Sam Hunter is a fiber artist and quilt designer who considers her sewing machine to be the Ultimate Power Tool. Sam started sewing when she was seven, and hasn't really stopped since.

Sam earned her MFA/Fiber in 2010 and is thrilled to have written her last ever term paper. The fact that she gleefully escaped formal academia only to then write a book is a situation whose irony is not lost on her.

Sam launched Hunter's Design Studio, her pattern design company, in 2011, and is the Word Girl behind the Sew Sassy designs. She is a fun and humorous speaker, and loves to teach our newbies and up-and-comers.
