Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I've spent most of my life writing. I am, at heart, a storyteller. As early as I can remember I have loved stories and loved telling them in my own inimitable way.

A Harley Austin book often defies the typical categories. A cross-genre author, you can find me writing stories that include classic romance, mystery, suspense, fantasy, and science fiction--and always with a heavy dose of the unexpected.

I've written myself into a corner so badly that I thought I was going to have to junk an entire book. I walked away from it for several days. Sure, writing is fun, but if no one reads it or enjoys it, then it's just a hobby. Telling stories is more than just a hobby for me. I want to touch people's lives with the lives of others I create within my books. I want people to fall in love with the people in my books. I want them to ship this person with that person by writing their own fan-fiction versions of my stories. If I can do that, then that is the most awesome reward ever of being a writer and storyteller.(less)
