Tim Sweeney is the author of Yank Down Under: A Drink and A Look Around Australia, a humorous travel memoir that recounts his adventures (and misadventures) during 3 years of living in Australia. His writing is laced with dry humor and witty observations about the places and people he encounters in his travels, and often with a hilarious and healthy dose of self-deprecation. Readers of Yank Down Under compare his writing style to Bill Bryson, but "with a looser tongue." Tim began his career as a newspaper journalist in Colorado, where he won the award for Best Column Writing from the Colorado Press Association at the age of twenty-three.
