ENG: Maarit Verronen received a Licentiate of Philosophy, majoring in Astronomy, in 1991 from the University of Oulu. She also worked there as a teacher and a researcher from 1987 until 1993, and since 1994 she's been a full-time writer. Verronen lives in Helsinki.

FI: Maarit Verronen on syntynyt Kalajoella vuonna 1965. Hän valmistui ylioppilaaksi 1984 Kalajoen lukiosta ja filosofian lisensiaatiksi 1991 Oulun yliopistosta pääineena tähtitiede.

Verronen työskenteli opetus- ja tutkimustehtävissä Oulun yliopistossa vuosina 1987–1993. Vuodesta 1994 lähtien hän on työskennellyt päätoimisesti kirjailijana. Maarit Verronen asuu Helsingissä.
