Elizabeth Horton-Newton has been called the Seductress of Suspense because she draws readers into her stories, builds the suspense, and just when the solution seems to be obvious, she pulls the rabbit out of the hat and reveals a dark truth. If you have an idea go with it. Write a brief outline of the idea. Remember nothing is written in stone; you will probably make a lot of changes on your way. Carry a small notebook with you or use your smartphone to take notes. You might be riding the subway or bus, sitting in a restaurant, waiting on line at the grocery checkout and have a great idea. Keep it beside your bed at night. I can't count the number of times I've awakened with a line, a paragraph, a fresh take on something. Set aside a period of time every day to sit down and write. Eventually things will start to come together. (less)

My book is about a small town and serial murders that have taken places over about 70 years. Constable Atticus Finch Asher, an adopted First Nations man, is investigating the latest series of killings. Roxie Wayne and photographer Flynn Ross are assigned to write a travel piece about the area unaware of the dark killings. Caught up in the investigation, Roxie can't resist trying to solve the mystery. Attracted to the moody Constable, she tries to put aside her feelings. But events put her right in the middle of the murders. The book is expected to launch in 2019.(less)
