I believe timing is everything and that this book is RIGHT ON TIME. It is filled with an energizing, empowering, emotional and mental health BOOST. In 2017, "Overcoming Hurtful Words: Rewrite Your Own Story" was released and continues to be a relevant resource, as well, during th ...more

The practices of silence, solitude, and stillness fill my tank and make space for new thoughts and ideas to form.(less)

Second, the satisfaction of hearing my words brought life to someone. I think of a woman who FB messaged me. She found my book, "Overcoming Hurtful Words: Rewrite Your Own Story," at a CHOICE rack in a truck stop. Her words humbled me and stirred me to keep sitting at my desk, scratching out sentences and paragraphs, and ultimately, to stay the course, regardless of rejections.(less)

Eleanor Roosevelt
“A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water.”
Eleanor Roosevelt

John R.W. Stott
“We must allow the Word of God to confront us, to disturb our security, to undermine our complacency and to overthrow our patterns of thought and behavior.”
John Stott

Stephen Cope
“Quoting from Thomas Merton
Dialogues With Silence
The true contemplative is not one who prepares his mind for a particular message that he wants or expects to hear, but is one who remains empty because he knows that he can never expect to anticipate the words that will transform his darkness into light. He does not even anticipate a special kind of transformation. He does not demand light instead of darkness. He waits on the Word of God in silence, and, when he is answered it is not so much by a word that bursts into his silence. It is by his silence itself, suddenly, inexplicably revealing itself to him as a word of great power, full of the voice of God. (17)”
Stephen Cope, The Wisdom of Yoga: A Seeker's Guide to Extraordinary Living

Charles Haddon Spurgeon
“If you cut him, (John Bunyan) he'd bleed Scripture!”
Charles H. Spurgeon

C.S. Lewis
“Remember, he is not, like you, a pure spirit. Never having been a human (Oh that abominable advantage of the Enemy's) you don't realize how enslaved they are to the pressure of the ordinary.”
C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
