Hi, I'm the author of Crocodile Man. I'm thrilled that you liked it and wonder how you happened to encounter it in France. Decades ago I read my poems at Shakespeare and Company in Paris and sold some copies then so I suppose that might be how some copies of my old book might be floating around there. At this point i only have 5 copies of it left but have two new poetry books, one in 2011 and the other in 2014.?

I bought a copy of your collection of poems at 12th Street Books in Austin, Texas many many years ago. I currently live in Austin. Have been here on and off since 1989. Though I did live in Paris from 1997 to 2004, where I became very familiar with Shakespeare & Company.

TO THE DOGS
IN EUROPE

Thank you for allowing yourself to write about dog shit and other bodily excretions. My editor is always trying to take any hint of bowel movements out of my poetry. Maybe I should get a new editor. (I lived in Belleville when I was in Paris, and my gosh... the amount of dog shit is amazing. Those little dog vacuum motorcycle thingies don't do the rounds in the 'lesser' neighborhoods as much as in the nice more touristic places towards the center of the city...)

I do miss Paris.

Anyway... thank you again for saying hello. I'll definitely be checking out your new stuff.

How do you buy books?

How one buys a book is important to me, as you might have ascertained by reading some of my blog entries. When I look for a specific title, I buy it directly online. Bookstores are for buying books when you don't know what you want to buy.
