Still haven't managed to get the game working. Though I have registered at the Undead Labs website as suggested by Steam support. After asking there I got asked to send a dxdiag by email to one of the admins. I will do that this weekend and hopefully they will be able to help. Of course that will mean letting the game crash again to show it isn't my system at fault.
I also got my ASIC miner from Butterfly Labs this week. Calum was surprised that I got him one. I have yet to figure out how to get mine to work though for some reason my sons work on my computer. I read that the drivers are fussy so after Calum gets his set up tomorrow he said he would give me a hand to get mine up and running. Before that though I need another adapter for the power cable. The one that was in the box has an American plug. The adapters are pretty cheap luckily. We have one but Calum has that now. Yes I'm soft, I let him have it as I know his unit is working. Mine is visible in devices and printers window so I'm sure it is working as well. I just need to get the mining software to see it and use it. That has so far been the problem. A mate at work suggest reinstalling Windows. I think I will keep that as a last resort though. Who likes reinstalling the operating system on a computer? Not me that is for sure. And to think that is what I did once upon a time. Mind all I really did was link the computers to the server wires and let them do their thing. That was unless something went wrong then the problems began. I think that is why I dread that side of computing so much.
Well it looks like I have a very busy weekend ahead. To add to this I have the rugby on as well. So time will be squeezed but tonight I'm going to laze back and do nothing other than watch TV.

29th November 2013

Finally State of Decay managed to get past the 10 minute limit. Yes I got to play for over 30 minutes last weekend. In that time I managed to get my character killed by a zombie horde. Soon after that it crashed out again. At least I got to get a little better feel for the game. This weekend I will start again to see if I can match last weeks enjoyment or even better it.
I haven't managed to get my ASIC miner working. Calum has said he will send it back for me when he makes enough from his. That will be after the coming festive season which is quickly approaching. I won't say I'm not disappointed over mine not functioning as I am but send it back is a bit on the costly side. That was why my son's offer lifted my spirits and made me proud of how good a son he is.
I asked for one hour back at work this week again. Sadly my supervisor couldn't or wouldn't commit to giving me it. In the end though it made little difference as I came down with a little tummy bug. So rather than getting an hour back I took today off. Well I can't work with food if I have a stomach bug can I? Hopefully next time I ask for time back I will get it. Yeah I know I can't make a habit of being ill but how else am I to get back my time. I have after all put the company before myself showing a certain level of commitment. The least that I want in return is one of my hours back each fortnight as the following week I work the overtime. I don't think that is much to ask. Sadly my supervisor doesn't think as I do. Maybe he just doesn't care. Anyways I had today off and just hope that I get paid for it out of my hours owed. I did last time I was ill so fingers crossed.

7th June 2014

I was glad to see that my problems at work have finally been taken seriously by the head supervisor. Yes at last I have been freed of the supervisor that has been making my life ache through his bad attitude. Let us hope that this continues.
I was planning in getting out into the garden today. Sadly the rain has had other ideas. Good news on my peas another one decided to sprout to replace the one the birds assassinated earlier in the season. It has been the only sign of things picking up. Magz got me another tomato plant to replace the one the slugs got to. A bit at a time I am getting the garden back into some sort of order. Of course the is still a lot needing done. Things like fixing the side fence again. I will get to that though when I'm on holiday for two weeks at the start of July.
I ordered the cables I need to flash the jally. They are coming from china so it can take some time for me to get them. I didn't realise that I was ordering them from the far east when I ordered them via Amazon. That was until I got the email confirming that the had been dispatched. A well it means that I will have to wait a little longer to see if flashing will get the ASIC miner running or not. The cables are only part of what I will need though. I also need to learn more bout Linux with some help from my son.

7th July 2014

As you have noticed this post is a little on the late side. For the past few days I have been off line due to computer issue which I am happy to say are now solved. I wish I could say the same for ASIC miner. I did finally managed to get it flashed using the Raspberry but I am still finding that it won't mine for me. I have to do more searching the web in the hope that it is something that I might sort. Though it is very much looking as if I shall never get it working.
I am now on holiday for two weeks. Of course the only place I will be going is out the back to my garden. So far the few strawberries I have pick this year have not lasted long. Yes Magz has enjoyed them all. Well there hasn't been enough of a crop for jam this year sadly. My gooseberries a ripening up nicely. They're still on the hard side though they are beginning to feel a little softer. Still I think I should leave them for another week or two yet before picking. One thing that looks good is my apple trees. Both have a lot of fruit developing nicely as is the blueberries.
This year has been a lot of misses in the garden. Yet still I should get some returns for the work. While I'm off I will need to fix my side fence again. It has become a yearly ritual. Winter blows it down and I repair it come the summer. Well at least it keeps me busy.

26th July 2014

The weather has been hot to say the least. Mind it is cooler today which is a bit of a relief after melting up at the retorts. Up there it was a hundred and four Fahrenheit ( about forty two Celsius) and being inside there isn't much of a breeze. You have to drink loads of water in that kind of heat. I was sure I was losing fluids faster than I could replace them so had Magz put extra water in my work bag. It was needed.
The ASIC miner has still to arrive. I'm a little worried as Magz emailed the seller and was told it still hadn't been posted after the date it was meant to arrive. Apparently the seller had been to a festival last weekend so that had prevented him posting it. He then asked if we still wanted it which I do. Of course if I don't see it soon Magz will inform EBay of the sellers failure to deliver and so seek a full refund for Calum. It is just a little of putting when this sort of thing happens. Not much that we can do about it though other than what we have so far.
Out in the garden the potatoes were pulled this week. There are some left for tomorrows diner but Tammy made a great potato salad yesterday that was much enjoyed in the sunshine. There is nothing like a summer salad especially when some of it comes from your own garden. Though I didn't get a lot of lettuce there was two which though small were full of crunchy goodness. Yes it was a great end to the first week back at work.

2nd August 2014

Well the ASIC my son ordered from EBay never arrived. After several excuses from the vendor Calum was forced to go through the resolution centre to get his money back. I decided to spend some of the little Bitcoin I had left and went to Bitmain, I checked them out and they have a good rep in the Bitcoin community. So now I am waiting for two Antminer S3's coming from China. The third batch, which mine is part of, begin shipping next week. Add to that the time for shipping and I might be mining coin again by the end of this month. I would have just ordered one unfortunately they weren't allowing anything under two per order. Yes I know what your thinking, one for my son. Sadly not this time as I am still paying Tammy back for the last one I got him. Plus the fact that I have a lot of bitcoins to make back after all the equipment that I have spent my reserves on that didn't work, as well as the latest batch. So no I will be using both myself.
Out in the garden, which the rain is watering nicely today, my remaining plants are doing well. That is other than the cherry trees and my eating apple tree. They aren't doing well at all. Spraying them seems to have little effect. At the start of the season I really thought they were going to do well this year. Next year I will need to make the hard decision on whether ort not to cut them down. If I do I will need to replace the apple tree for the sake of the cooking apple one, which is doing really great. In fact the number of apples on it are weighing it down so much that it has needed extra support to prevent it uprooting itself. So it will give us plenty of pies this year, yum.
