Another weekend of great rugby to look forward to. Scotland will be at home to Wales and I’m hoping my country can continue the streak of wins that it has managed to rack up over the last two games. It will be a tough match I’m guessing so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Scotland. France will be hoping for a win against Ireland as they have yet to win a game in this years Six Nations. If they fail it would be a huge deal to them after getting to the final of the World Cup last year. England play Italy on Sunday. I expect them to win so placing them in prime position to win the championship as well as the Grand Slam if the can win their final game a week later. I think their hopes are high for this year. As I said a great weekend of sport ahead.
I started another Civ V last week which I shall play this weekend after the rugby. I had a notion to play last Saturday but had to first re-download it from Steam as my installation had vanished from my system. I don’t know how as I ran a virus check just in case on finding it missing but it turned up nothing. So one of those mysteries that there is no answer to. In the end nothing was lost in real terms other than the time to re-install the game and the Steam engine.

15th November 2013

I asked for an hour back of the time I'm owed at work. Sadly it was refused. This left me feeling angry and forced me to go over my supervisors head. I still didn't get the hour but did put my point over to the manager. She was understanding though her hands were tied as she couldn't very well overturn the supervisor's decision. That is understandable yet it left me no further forward other than my expressing my wish to take an hour back every second Friday as I do have a long week to come. Which is made longer as it is my turn next week to work on to cover the retort. As I said she said she understood and advised me to ask a couple of day before I want the time back in future. Good advice though I'll need to wait and see if that works in future. As it was I was finished cleaning my area around the time I wish to leave for home. After that I was as I saw it not really needed so could have been given the time. Not worth worrying about it now though just need to learn from it and wait to see if I do get some time back next time.
I got a game from Steam, State of Decay, a zombie game. After downloading I have spent more time trying to find a solution to it crashing out every five minutes. Even Steam support have been no help. Search forums has lead to fruitless returns. Steam suggested registering with the games official forum and querying there for an answer. I have search that forum several times but haven't registered as yet. It isn't the first game from Steam that has led to problems and each time support has been terrible. Usually though the game do allow me to play for an hour or two before they crash which makes them playable. The only other game that does this is another zombie one, Dead Island. Maybe my computer doesn't like the dead rising, hehehe. Well I have this weekend to try and find a remedy to the problem. After a week though I am think I might not get it working right. Maybe deleting it and re-downloading might work. I haven't tried that one yet. It might be worth a go as I won't lose anything. Five minutes doesn't give you much to save.

22nd Noveber 2013

Still haven't managed to get the game working. Though I have registered at the Undead Labs website as suggested by Steam support. After asking there I got asked to send a dxdiag by email to one of the admins. I will do that this weekend and hopefully they will be able to help. Of course that will mean letting the game crash again to show it isn't my system at fault.
I also got my ASIC miner from Butterfly Labs this week. Calum was surprised that I got him one. I have yet to figure out how to get mine to work though for some reason my sons work on my computer. I read that the drivers are fussy so after Calum gets his set up tomorrow he said he would give me a hand to get mine up and running. Before that though I need another adapter for the power cable. The one that was in the box has an American plug. The adapters are pretty cheap luckily. We have one but Calum has that now. Yes I'm soft, I let him have it as I know his unit is working. Mine is visible in devices and printers window so I'm sure it is working as well. I just need to get the mining software to see it and use it. That has so far been the problem. A mate at work suggest reinstalling Windows. I think I will keep that as a last resort though. Who likes reinstalling the operating system on a computer? Not me that is for sure. And to think that is what I did once upon a time. Mind all I really did was link the computers to the server wires and let them do their thing. That was unless something went wrong then the problems began. I think that is why I dread that side of computing so much.
Well it looks like I have a very busy weekend ahead. To add to this I have the rugby on as well. So time will be squeezed but tonight I'm going to laze back and do nothing other than watch TV.
