I’ve started working on the plot for my next story. It’s only four chapter’s worth so far but it is a start. I also wrote down some notes for my next Banshee tale at work. They aren’t a lot just a few lines about the concept behind it and the way in which the banshee rises again. I was quite excited with the idea at the time so had to make a note in case I lost it. That happens very easily when you don’t have access to writing material. Even when you do there is always the risk that there isn’t the time when your working. You just have to squeeze a moment if you can to make a note which isn’t easy in a factory setting. Still we have to work is important as it is what pays the bills so we need to bend our penmanship around it and not the other way around.
Looking forward to the rugby tomorrow, Scotland v Italy. It should be a good game and Scotland need to win it or it will be the wooden spoon. The way Italy is playing though they might just steal this game so we have a lot to do.
I still have a little work to do in the kitchen but it isn’t much so shouldn’t take long. Famous last words as the saying goes. Really it is just removing some loose, blown plaster so we can get the council to repair the walls. Taking the artex off the walls brought a lot of the plaster with it, which isn’t really a surprise. It also revealed someone had tried to replaster the walls and did it very badly as well as with the wrong kind. They use a rough one rather than what they should have, finishing plaster. This was also not sealed on top of being the wrong kind. That meant that the artex was even harder to come off but I got there in the end. I suppose who ever did it was thinking the artex would cover it which it did, though if they had use a little more care the job would have looked better. I still would have had to remove the artex though, Magz doesn’t like it and it was a mess.

What a week for stormy weather. One of my apple trees now need some added support. I have a post that I can use which I shall need to do tomorrow. The wind also stripped some of my blueberries from the bush. I salvaged what I could and there is still hopefully enough still on it to give me enough to make my wine.
Magz went for more scans this week but as usual we are still left in the dark. Doctors can be so insensitive and not very good at keeping patients in the loop. I know they have to check over the results of the test before making their diagnosis yet it would be good if they could ease our minds a little. It would stop us, the concerned family, worrying as much as well as keep our imagination from adding to our anxiety. I suppose it is their way to avoid becoming to engaged emotionally. Unfortunately that doesn’t help us or make them look that helpful. If anything it makes them look rather cold and insensitive. Well until we get the result we’ll just have to put it to the back of our minds.
I’ve been trying to keep up with the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, sadly though the coverage on ITV has been less than perfect. Last night as an example the highlights were only on for half an hour of which only fifteen minutes were actually highlights from the game between the USA and Russia. Most of the time I have to use the internet to keep up with what is happening as with work I’m usually in bed early so miss the highlights. Where is the early evening coverage? I know that the games are played in New Zealand so there timing is at local time but highlights? If this had been soccer the outcry would have meant someone was looking for a new job. Anyway I’m of until Tuesday so hopefully I get a chance to see some good games. Thankfully I won’t be sitting up till the little hours, as I did when Scotland played Romania. Instead Magz has set the Sky box to record the ones I like the look of. Sadly not got the time to watch them all, which is a pity as the USA/Russia game looked like it was a good one from the highlights.

Well I got the first proper draft of my poem down. This weekend I will be doing more editing of it as I managed to do some earlier in the week. I’m planning in dropping the opening stanza as I feel I don’t really need it. The second one would make a better opener anyway and in a way say what the first tells you without say it so directly. It allows the reader to see rather than be told which is a good thing I think. There are some other parts that will need revising as well as the ending lines. I’m not sure of them I might need to come up with another final stanza, maybe I might add on a few lines that would have more of an impact. I have much to think about when I get back from the opticians tomorrow.
I’m also looking forward to the rugby this weekend. The Six Nations starts tomorrow.
Scotland has England to face. It should be a great game but before them there is the France v Italy game. Sunday I will also be watching the Wales v Ireland match. Though it will really be Scotland that I’m routing for the loudest tomorrow, all the other games are to just be enjoyed, somehow it is different when it’s your country though isn’t it?
I feel I might be struggling this weekend to fit everything in. With the rugby, my poem, some gaming, the opticians (I’m over due an eye test by several months), and some more SVQ studying to do. Not worth worrying about though as it won’t make it done.

The new routine at work is going well. I must admit the last hour was a little taxing tonight it being Friday. Watching as everyone else heads out the door to begin their weekend was a heart sinker. Still it is only an hour watching over the retort and bringing them down. The extra cost of getting to work is another pain but we are managing as a family does in those circumstances. Penny pinching is something we all know about these days isn’t it.
Tammy is going birthday shopping tomorrow with her mum. She turns sweet sixteen this weekend so the ladies have planned to spend the money she is getting for her birthday by going to Irvine. There was talk about Glasgow being the chosen destination though that was dropped for some unknown reason. Irvine is a good place for shopping though t isn’t a patch on Glasgow maybe it was the extra cost of going to the big city that changed the plan. Anyway they should have a good day out which is what is important.
While the girls are away I have the rugby to watch though it is the Sunday match that I am most looking forwards to. Scotland play Ireland. I am expecting a good game especially if Scotland can play as well as they did last time out. Only time will tell. England will be looking to continue their winning streak as they head out tomorrow while France are looking to get a win to end the losing streak. Italy v Wales could also be a good game as both have a lot to play for in Rome. In all it is going to be a good weekend of rugby.

Why do you always have good ideas when you are working? Sadly by the time you can get to your note pad the words have slid away. This has been my problem this week. Just for a moment the words seem to stream through my mind only to vanish as quickly as they came. And working in a factory leaves little room for taking my pad with me. I don’t know if office work is any different but I do imagine it must. The same can be said for many jobs though as there are just as many that do make writing hard. It can be frustrating when all that is left is ghost of the theme. You might think that may give me the starting point to try to find the magic words that have deserted me so quickly. Unfortunately I seem only to create what appears to be a poor imitation of what for one instant seem so much better. I know leave them to the side and come back to them at a later date then I might recapture some of those shining words that so light up my mind even if it was only for an instant.
Tammy and Magz had a great time in Irvine last week. They went for a meal on me well it was for my daughter’s birthday. While they were out I enjoyed the rugby on TV and did a bit of screaming at the action. Well you can’t always agree with the ref can you, hehehe. It was a good weekend for the Six Nations. Scotland did well on Sunday narrowly beating Ireland even though they were on the defence much of the match. Still they won and that is what counts.

Another weekend of great rugby to look forward to. Scotland will be at home to Wales and I’m hoping my country can continue the streak of wins that it has managed to rack up over the last two games. It will be a tough match I’m guessing so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Scotland. France will be hoping for a win against Ireland as they have yet to win a game in this years Six Nations. If they fail it would be a huge deal to them after getting to the final of the World Cup last year. England play Italy on Sunday. I expect them to win so placing them in prime position to win the championship as well as the Grand Slam if the can win their final game a week later. I think their hopes are high for this year. As I said a great weekend of sport ahead.
I started another Civ V last week which I shall play this weekend after the rugby. I had a notion to play last Saturday but had to first re-download it from Steam as my installation had vanished from my system. I don’t know how as I ran a virus check just in case on finding it missing but it turned up nothing. So one of those mysteries that there is no answer to. In the end nothing was lost in real terms other than the time to re-install the game and the Steam engine.

What a great day for rugby last Saturday was. Even though Scotland was beaten by the French it was still a good game. Italy started the days sport by giving us a edge of the seat game where they beat the Irish in Rome. Wales then snatched the championship from the English in an impressive show of strength in the scrum. England struggled to fight on in the second half but Wales really began to dominate them. As I said Scotland was beaten by a resurgent France though they still weren’t the same team from last year. The Scots did fight till the last but it wasn’t to be our day or should I say night.
No rugby this weekend so I will get back to my game of Civ V. With winter still biting here, we’re to get more snow over the next few days, there will be no gardening. I did see that my strawberries have faired better than I though last week. The dead leaves and runners have helped shield them from the worst of the frost. Luckily I left them in place planning to clear them this week which won’t be happening now due to the weather. So it means that I will be having another of those lazy winter weekends perfect for gaming on the computer.
I do hope that spring start to show soon. Next week I go on holiday from work for Easter so I am hoping to get to the garden centre to get prepared for the growing season. I will also still need to spray my trees but the still looked winter dead last week with little change viewing them from the window today when I got home. Not surprising as it is baltic out today. Let us hope this is the last of winter’s blast so we can see life spring again. Winter is getting very weary now.

Went down town early today to get Magz Valentines card and gift. While I was at it I got her birthday covered as well. Tammy went with me, mainly to spend my cash, hehehe. Yes she is a typical teenage daughter as she loves spending her dad's cash which means mine. She did leave me bus fare so I shouldn't complain, hehehe.
The rugby is on this weekend again. Ireland just beat Wales and with some confidence. Wales just seemed to struggle to get into the game. Of course this will only make them more determined in their next match. I only hope that is true for Scotland who face England next. After the disappointment of last week that is. really though I think Scotland will have one good half before falling under the weight of the English forwards. We will see as the game starts soon.
There was more overtime this week. Luckily it wasn't a lot. Still I wasn't paid for the half hour I was held back the week before. I will need to see the office on Monday as I didn't check my payslip till I got home. Hopefully they will just add it to the two and a quarter that I did this week. I don't see how there should be a problem unless they try to put us back on taking time back. That is a real possibility regardless of how unfair it is. I'll just have to wait till Monday to see.
Well the rugby start very soon so I will leave you here.

I'm halfway through watching the rugby. Scotland won their match earlier. Now England is scrapping with Ireland and have a three point lead. Mind the second half could see that change. It isn't as good a game so far as the Italy v Scotland game but still plenty of action with more promised to come.
Another stressful week at work. I'm still working through at the labelling and the supervisor relieves his stress on those under him. Not the best management skills but common in low paid work. Not a lot we can do about it, other than request to be moved, which I have. Sadly their are few who wish to work in labelling because of the supervisor. When things are running smoothly he is fine and even cheery. Just don't let anything go awry.
As I'm writing this Ireland have just gotten another penalty putting them ten three ahead.
With the lighter nights starting to come around again I have begun to think of my garden again. Last weekend I did some tidying up. That was mainly removing the broken back fence. It will need a lot of work to repair. The first job will be to replace the post which snapped in the high winds but the fence panel will also need work to some rotted strappings. Of course it won't be till my Easter break, weather permitting. Well it is something to look forwards to in the next few months.

Another week and still I haven't managed to get the job for my son done. Plus it doesn't seem likely that it will get done this weekend as he is going out tonight again. Oh to be young again when we stayed out all weekend spending money we never had. Or at least we held for a short bit till the landlord took it from us, hehehe.
The garden remains to be done as the leaves are still clinging to the trees. If it is dry tomorrow I will need to do some light cleaning up out there. Today the rugby was my excuse and then the rain gave me a bigger reason for staying indoors. Wales faced Australia this afternoon. It was a close game so much so that it first swung in favour of Wales then to the Aussies. In the end the Australians snatched the victory in the last ten minutes though Wales fought to the end. As you can tell it was a good game. Hopefully the Scottish game against Argentina is as good but with us coming away with the win. It starts at five, well at least the prematch dialogue does so not long to go.
Elite is now into the 3.04 beta trial and going well. I haven't had much time to play it this week. I've had few days of overtime at work caused by production issues which delayed the retorts. Mind I had the game on as soon as I could last night for a few hours which was good. I am working towards getting myself the Cobra MkIII in the game but I have some while to go. I just have to be patient and keep doing what I have been doing to get it. That just means sticking to trading in the safer systems for a bit more before heading off to explore.
