“Winning’s never about what anyone else does. It’s something that happens between you and yourself. You don’t look to the left or the right. You just jump in the water and swim with everything you have. You swim for your life, Ma, and when you reach the finish line and look up, whoever you thought you were competing against is gone. Poof.”

“This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.”

She will be missed.
Our beautiful friend Patry Francis died today, July 7, 2022, of pancreatic cancer. I've been in touch with her husband and daughter, and they let me know that she died peacefully. Such a loss to me personally and to the world of literature and the world in general. She always knew the right thing to say me, and she nourished so many in so many ways. Oh, how I will miss our conversations.

Thank you, Laura! All good things to you in 2018!
Thanks, Zoe. The writing life is good. I have a new novel coming out early next year and am immersed in the third. Hope all is well with you!
Hi Patry, I'm pleased to meet you and look forward to discussing books with you. If you ever have any questions about any of the titles on my shelves or about eHarlequin.com and all it has to offer, please ask. I'll be happy to answer. I’ll also update news when I can for example; did you know that in March Silhouette Desires will be putting out their 2000th book? The authors are celebrating with a special blog on eHarlequin.com :).

Thank you for being a friend and we know a friend is one attached to another by affection or esteem. One that is of the same nation, party, or group that favors or promotes something, which is how we met here. I will just say you’re very special and a highly favored. I would greatly appreciate you’re viewing my webpage to read a full chapter and reviews to which one wrote:
"Not since The Color Purple have I read a book that evoked such emotions. John T. Wills possesses the ability to transport the reader directly into the life and struggles of his main characters story. I was educated in a way that did not afford me the benefit of truly understanding the significance of the historical events taught from a stand alone perspective. This book actually touched my heart and inspired me to increase the equity in my "dash"! Excellent -- Tonja Covington
I am sending my wishes to you for the blessings of peace, joy, and success…

Hi Patry, I spent November doing that crazy NaNoWriMo thing. (Wrote a skeleton of a mystery novel; trying to stay occupied while I await the publication of my "real" book next month--Accordion Dreams, my Cajun music memoir.)
So, after a heavy writing month, I decided to treat myself to Liar's Diary.
Wow! Couldn't put it down!
It's hard to comment without giving it away, but I sure didn't see the ending coming!
Now I've inspired the bass player in my Cajun band (also on Goodreads, who is listening to the audio version.
Sending you best wishes,
Blair Kilpatrick

HI Patry and thanks so much for adding me as a friend. Your book "A Liar's Diary" sounds very interesting! If you have time, I'd love for you to visit my web site, www.jeanniebarber.com. I'm a novice writer so feel free to make any kind of suggestions, ideas or thoughts to correct it. I’m co-authoring a novel with Patty Wiseman, another friend on Goodreads. We’ve known each other for over 30 years. While you're there, please sign the guestbook, too! There’s also a link to our book you can click on…clairkelley@synthasite.com. This site is brand new and in the editing stage as is our story. Please visit it as well. We’re both very green, but we’ve met so many people on this site willing to reach out and offer advice or a guiding hand. Thanks,
Jeannie

Hey Patry! I went to add your book to my currently reading list and just realized that you're a friend of mine! What a pleasure! :) I'm loving the book so far. I just started it, but already there's an air of mystery, in the characters alone. I like how you've created such an atmosphere within the first few chapters! Can't wait to keep reading!
Many thanks for the add, Patry.I think your books are really interesting and good and would like to read some.

Patry, thanks so much for the invitation. The Liar's Diary sounds marvelous!--a book to share with my daughters, who (like me) enjoy the psychological twists and turns. I wish you the very best with this book and all.
