Update

Time for a little update. It is my plan to sit down and hammer out the last little bit of #TheSearing this month. There will be a contest announced Family Day (Ontario) for early access to the book!

For those not in the know, once I am finished with the Imperial War series, I will be shifting gears into writing one off adventure stories set within the same universe. I have struggled with the plot of the first story for quite awhile, but inspiration struck today! Coincidently enough, this story line even gave inspiration towards a character's arc in the final book of the Imperial War.

But, more on that at later date.

It Has Begun!

[cue Mortal Kombat music]

Nanowrimo 2016 has officially started. I jumped in a day late and had to make up time. It is with great joy I can say I have exceeded what the expected word count for day two should be (3530/3333). Talk about fast writing.

That being said, I do need to come clean. I let myself down and was unable to finish book 2 in the time I set myself. With that in mind I am utilizing this challenge to finish off the last 7.5 chapters of book 2. That should take me to about halfway through the Nano challenge word count.

Upon completion of that goal, I plan to dive into book 3 head on and write with my pants around my ankles. It's an exciting prospect (don't worry my pants will be adjust in the right location) as most of my writing contains some element of preparation and planning. Fingers crossed for a fun month of writing vigorously.

Getting Ready for the Nano

Tonight I registered for the 2016 Nanorwrimo challenge. The goal? To begin work on the final entry in the Imperial War series. It would be doubly nice to conclude the writing of said novel in the 30-day challenge. Stay tuned to this blog for daily word count updates and other goodies.

Wait a second! What about The Searing? Fear not avid readers, that novel is well on its way. It is my hope to hammer it out in the next two weeks. Since Nano is close at hand I may forgo jumping right into editing mode and keep the creative juices flowing. If it goes according to plan I may find it a really useful means of finishing this new entry.

How so? As I have written this series as three individual stories, they are all apart of one large story. (*spoiler*) The Searing does not contain a prologue or epilogue - The Spark did not contain an epilogue either. The idea is that these stories are meant to be read back-to-back. It makes logical sense to write them as such.

Plus, who am I kidding, it is easier to keep the creative mode running then to slow progress down for the editorial phase.

Interviews and Revelations

Howdy ho!

I have secretly been working away on a new side project that will be released along side The second book of the Imperial War series [The Searing]. This new work is not an accompaniment to the series, but rather a stand alone work of its own.

Valory, a Collection of Lyric Poems will be released in tandem with the my next novel. On the service these are abstract lyrics with vivid imagery and messages. What secrets do they reveal? Is there an over arcing thread connecting the pieces together? These are but a few of the questions readers will be able to decide on their own accord.

Back in September I was interviewed by Airship Ambassador. In case you missed it here is the link to part one of four. https://airshipambassador.wordpress.c...

Until next time friends and remember you can't live your dreams whilst sleeping.

Hard at Work or Working Hard?

Today I have finally found some time to get back to work on the sequel to The Spark. At this point the story is sitting at 61,000 words and about to begin the trek into the final act of the story. At this point, the narrative moves at much more brisk pace compared to The Spark, but I fully know this will change when post work begins. In the mean time, make sure to enter the Giveaway for a signed, and personalized, copy of The Spark!
