Do something completely different.

Write because you are inspired to do so. Forcing out several chapters at a time will only cheapen the experience for all concerned... If you didn't enjoy it, chances are neither will your readers.(less)

Escapology and the freedom to put a character into positions and scenarios you are unlikely to find yourself in.
Having said that, I believe it is important never to ask your characters to undertake a task you would struggle with yourself.

Unless of course you are writing within a genre like Science Fiction or Fantasy for which the realms of realism can be acceptably stretched and distorted accordingly.(less)
