Eventually a story comes to me and then I type away, usually on my iPhone. I tend to leave it alone for several months and then come back to it. When I feel like writing but don't have an idea, I try to think of funny stories from my own childhood or stories that my family has told me. The idea that my words on paper can elicit such a response is what makes me want to write and publish more children's books. I recently read my books to a Brownie troop and when I heard those genuine belly laughs, I can't even describe the feeling it gave me. But that, right there, was enough to make me want to write more -- just to hear that sound.(less)
