Chris G Derrick was born and grew up in a small town situated between the cities of Bath and Bristol in the south west of the UK. Born in 1957 his favourite genre of film has always been the Western. A birthday treat to watch The Magnificent Seven with some young friends when he was around six years of age no doubt had a hand in developing his life long appreciation of the Old West.
After leaving school Chris started his working life as an accountant, with a short spell in HM Royal Marines in his early twenties. From the 1980’s onwards he earned a living as an IT professional up until the end of March 2013.

Hello Chris How is it that a guy from the UK gets into writing a western or two? I have another friend / author there Chris Leek who can twist up a good one also. The Tainted Dollar is next on my list and I look forward to reading another Western (if a little British)?

My dad always reckoned if the film itself was boring you could keep yourself amused by looking at the scenery haha.
I've always had a passion for books, even before I started school - and held a life-long ambition to see if I could actually write one of my own. Here's hoping you enjoy 'The Tainted Dollar' when you come to open its pages.
Hopefully you won't read too much of a Brit influence within it.
Please let me know what you think when you've finished it.
The third book should be out within the next couple of months.
It's actually the first novel I wrote, taking the last 9 months of 2013 - & has been a real labor of love.
Apart from Jake Base (who here has a far more reduced role) all the other characters (& the actual story line itself) are completely fresh.
Anyway, I'm going on too much!

Book 5 - It's Arrived

I hope everyone is well.
As the above title states the 5th book "Joel 'Hatchets' Miller - Battling the Bozeman" has just been added here.
It's a pretty hefty read - at 659 pages.

I didn't realise it was going to be quite so large until after I'd completed it. A tad late then...but I wouldn't have wanted to halt the story before time.
