Happy St Patrick's Day!
Do you know why on St Patrick's Day it is customary to wear green? According to a 1726 story, St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.

When I think of Ireland, so many wonderful things come to mind: this criminally sexy accent, that delicious Irish coffee (Bushmills 16 year old, please), Pierce Brosnan (aww), The Commitments (because you should always Try a Little Tenderness), this heavy but smooth Guinness beer ("Sláinte!"), seductive Dracula, high cliffs and lush green meadows (soft Galway sheeps), the magnificent William Butler Yeats, and Oscar Wilde (“If you are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life”), and the music. Oh-boy, this Celtic music!

From the first time I watched Lord of the Dance, an Irish dance production created by Irish-American dancer Michael Flatley, I was hooked. Now, like in Pablov’s classical conditioning experiment, every time I hear a bagpipe sound, I began to salivate.
