On March 18, 1989 - A 4,400-year-old mummy was discovered at the Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt. The officials who entered the grave found the mummy of an aristocratic young woman, her smile frozen in a plaster death mask, a bronze crown covered with gold leaf was on her head and jewelry decorated her neck.

Egyptologists were incredibly surprised at the discovery, because the Giza pyramids area has been looted over and over again since antiquity and excavated by some of the greatest archaeologists of the last two centuries. But that finding, along with many others across the world, prove we still have much left to uncover. And we should uncover history.

If we would be open to learn, history could teach us about what worked and what did not, what yielded positive results, and what steered towards destruction. History is smart, not because it’s old, but because it had already happened. If we avoid past mistakes, we can invest our time and energy in new ideas and create better solutions.

So, when someone offers solutions, which have repeatedly failed in the past, ask: “Am I listening to the wrong voice?”
