Beautiful People,
My 12-year-old daughter came home today with a box of half a dozen Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and that was sooo sweet. Not only the doughnuts but also Krispy Kreme’s delightful way of rewarding hard working students. For every “A” earned, a child receives a free doughnut up to 6 A’s.
She ceremonially placed the box on the kitchen table, opened it her eyes sparkling with glee, and the six glossy doughnuts twinkled right back at her.
I said: “Baby, on Friday, when you showed me your report card, I hugged you and told you how proud I was of your achievements, and you only replied: “Thanks, mom.” But it looks like these doughnuts make you feel very pleased.”
She took a bite of the chocolate glazed pastry and said: “Mom, don’t you know that external affirmation tastes better?”
I stared at the doughnuts. They truly looked impressed (that O at the center). I grabbed one, raised it up towards hers and touched: “To Krispy Kreme who makes students proud.”
