First, let me say that I have no problem with online dating. The stigma that online dating is only for weirdos and serial killers is antiquated and needs to stop. I know many well-adjusted non-murderers that have met their significant others online. Others have met one-night-stands and bad dates but the important thing to remember is that they all lived to tell the tale.
