Beautiful People,

Naomi Jagoda’s article, IRS has illegal immigration and taxes problem, published at The Hill clarifies in 349 words how dysfunctional, destructive and distorted (have I missed another disparaging D word?) our immigration system is.

Jagoda writes: “Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen said the agency is trying to figure out how to address the issue of illegal immigrants using others' Social Security numbers — without discouraging them from filing their taxes.”

Here’s the Commissioner’s dilemma- We have illegals, millions of illegals. We cannot assign to them SSN because they are well- illegals. But they need a job, so they “borrow” SSN from friends in their community. But as we all know, a job is not all fun and games, we need to pay taxes. So illegals pay taxes, like everyone else. The IRS likes it when people pay taxes. So the Commissioner is confused.

On one hand, he wants illegals to continue paying taxes; on the other hand, everything has to do with those taxes is illegal.

Tough one, ah?

If only we could all live in a country that had codified and uncodified forms of law or maybe even a Constitution, things would be so much simpler... or would they?

XO,
Sharon
