I've just reached the halfway point (37/65) in my Goodreads reading challenge, and it's May, so I'm still on target and schedule. At least that's as of today.
My last book was
The Last Picture Show which has lingered in my mind since I finished it. That doesn't usually happen to me. I like it when a novel does that. Anyway, the coming of age story set in pre-Korean War Texas has memorable characters.
Since I haven't seen the 1971 movie from start to finish, I don't have the cast of actors to distort the fictional ones. Except for Cybill Shepherd who seemed just right for the Jacy part. I suppose we've all known a Jacy--rich, snobbish, gorgeous--at some time in our life.
Right now I'm reading Michael Connelly's
The Lincoln Lawyer AFTER we saw the movie. H'm. Maybe next time I'll read the book first. But I'm enjoying TLL very much, I must say.
