My post

Beautiful People,

Those of you who have read The Opposite of Comfortable know that when facing adversity the first thing to do is to truly believe the crisis can be solved, and then to collect as many options as possible to solve the problem, without eliminating even the most craziest ones on the list.

In 2009, my high-skilled immigration process began. The senseless United States immigration regulations required me to choose between my career and my family, stay unemployed for five years and reside in a medically under-served area.

I had many choices, and giving up was one of them. But I’m not a fan of quitting. After so many challenges, I knew that A CHOICE OTHER THAN QUITTING IS WINNING.

I enrolled into the highly-demanding, rigorous Northeastern University MBA program, and struggled to succeed.

Going back to school in your forties is never easy, but studying for the first time in a foreign language is even harder.

When it was hard, I worked even harder. I studied nine hours a day, seven days a week.

Three years later, I graduated with honors.

Today, I’m completing the circle and sharing with you a book review and an interview with Beta Gamma Sigma, an international premier honor society recognizing business excellence, of which I’m a lifetime member.

In the interview, you can read about the way I overcame adversity, my outlook on education, contribution to the community, and life lessons not learned in any school.

XO,
Sharon
