Local Author Meet
So for the second year in a row, the Athol Public Library has invited local authors to share their craft. I feel honored and privileged to be at the event! Dreams of writing started young for me. But knowing it would never prove financially sound, kept the dream deferred. Until I found myself out of work in the year 2007. I opened up a high school journal and started re-imagining a story I had written there. My first foray into chapter writing. It kept me occupied for days while I searched the web for a new job. Meanwhile I also did research into wills and law stuff to make my story more interesting, always knowing that it was more spoof than actual murder mystery! And thanks to iUniverse and the backing of my wife, I eventually had my own book. I continue to write these days: plays for the school I teach at, poems when the mood hits, and a comic series that if I were better at inking and lettering would maybe someday see the light of day. But of course, I dedicated myself to being a full-time dad and the reward of hugs and kisses and "best daddy in the whole wide world" speeches is what makes it all worth it!
