I have tried this approach with mixed results. Usually the younger kids are ok as long as you have a COOL treat. I have purchased all kinds of goodies from a catalog called Oriental Trader. But the older kids (who honestly are too old to trick-or-treat anyway) get nasty about the "junk" and ask for candy instead! In my neighborhood we attract some pretty big/old/tough guys that I don't want to tangle with...so *sigh* I had to buy candy too. I think this year I will be gone on Halloween night and avoid it all. :( It used to be so much fun...

I think all the fun items are great! But, I think Snickers sounds the best! ( I love chocolate )
Have a wonderful Halloween!
My kids and grand kids love all that fun stuff. They love the glow sticks, pencils and funny erasers, they love the chips any kind. My mom gives out doritos and chips and she says she sees some of the kids coming back a second time. The only thing they did not like was the toothbrush. My grand kids must have a dentist that lives where they went trick or treating. Our daughter liked the idea for her kids.I love potato chips and kit kats.

And I only ate 4 pieces. Okay, 5 but that one was later and seemed to be calling my name. LOL
