Yeah, so. That election…
Every four years citizens of our great nation are so fortunate to be deluged by political ads where one candidate paints themselves as hero and his/her opponent the villain, where we are told time after time that our country sucks and candidate so-and-so is the only one who can help and then one wins and one loses and one side cheers and the other spirals into a black hole of darkness and depression….
I mean, every four years citizen of our great nation get to vote.
And this past Tuesday, I did.
I voted. I got my sticker and I wore it all day.
I stayed up late to watch the results roll in.
The next day, I drank two gigantic coffees before nine thirty am.
I accepted it. (Well, after some argumentative posts on Facebook. Then I deleted my Facebook app, and then I accepted it).
The sun will keep setting and rising (God willing).
And all we can do is be the best citizens we can be. As I told my kids the next day, in an election, someone wins. Someone loses.
But only kindness matters.
