Here in the UK, Her Majesty’s Government has passed into law the Investigatory Powers Bill, otherwise known as the ‘Snooper’s Charter.’ It represents the largest expansion of surveillance powers in Western Europe, and according to Edward Snowden, it “It goes farther than many autocracies.”
