This and that. . .
I am finishing the final edits on my memoir—High Tides. I am adding a few last things, including adding an addendum about how my life has dramatically changed in the last year and adding a very good review that Kirkus gave me to the back cover. Yes, I did pay Kirkus to have my book reviewed, and they do not guarantee a good review, but you can choose to have the review published or not; I think the cost of the review was about $400. I have added a banner to my book, noting that all the proceeds go to St. Jude's, but I have not uploaded that cover to this site yet though you can see it on Amazon.
I am still working on my YA fantasy novel, but in the meantime have started working on a new book. I am sure all you writers out there know how it is when you seems to have a million ideas at once!
Anyhow, the book I am working on will be about the historical Mary, looking at both history, literature, religion and art. Being the Catholic that I am, it has always puzzled me why Mary, celebrated as the holy mother of God in the Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches and also highly venerated in those churches, is not a part of the Holy Trinity. In the Trinity, which is said to be the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, Mary is nowhere to be found. My somewhat sacrilegious thoughts about this is maybe She is the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit since a Father must have a Mother and a Son must have both a Mother and a Father. Anyway, that is where the idea for the book started, and I am looking forward to where this all will lead me. I love reading, and I really love doing research, so it will be interesting!!!
If you have read any great books about Mary, please send titles my way!
