So I'm playing with how to switch action back and forth between the two viewpoints - village and adventurers - the first draft seems a little jumpy so I'm going to try to restructure the two chapters accordingly into distinct locations, one for one chapter and one for another and see how it goes.
Plus, of course, there's a significant amount of pointless bullying and backstabbing going on back at the village that needs firming up, and a small part for the inevitable pantomime hedgehog. The only worry I have is that if I set a precedent here at the start of the second part of the book I'll be forced to carry it on until the end of the book, which is now two-thirds complete and already has sections that flip back and forth well. I guess having a good editor to finally go to - and I'm lucky to have Al Rigg - is reassuring because no matter how mangled and disordered my feeble efforts at organising go he'll be there to stamp it into shape.
