Yes, I have finally gotten around to reading the second book in the Demon Road Trilogy by Derek Landy. Yet again it started with a bang and yet again I was hooked. Two for Two.

Desolation, number Two in the Trilogy has just as much going for it as the first. Amber and Milo are still on the run in the Demonic Car (which is awesome) and now they not only have Amber's parents on their tails but Hellhounds as well. And guess what...the Hellhounds are bikers! How cool is that.

The town they find themselves in, Desolation Hill (hence the name of the book) is one weird place. Everyone is way too nice and creepy and very pushy to get our two heroes (in a manner of speaking) out of their little corner of the country. All because, once a year, the entire town minus the kids get to turn into Demons and go around killing each other. Wowzers!

Derek Landy has an amazing talent for the creepy, freaky and down right crazy. Desolation is one action packed young adult horror which is better than the first. I wish there was a score more than five stars. I am fairly certain that the third instalment will be just as freakishly amazing. Can't wait.
